Puppy Mill Awareness Dog Walk - submitted by Judith Ourand-Schwartz

Judith Ourand-Schwartz would like everyone to know about the Puppy Mill Awareness Dog Walk that will be held next Friday, June 5, 2005, 9:30am at the Intercourse Community Park, 3721 Old Philadelphia Pike, Intercourse, PA.

In conjunction with the Dog Walk, the organizers put an ad in the local Lancaster, PA newspaper requesting breeders NOT kill their older breeding stock this week. They suggested instead they bring older breeding stock and any puppies not wanted to the dog walk next Friday, June 5th.

Those who would be willing to take a breeding dog at that time, please contact them at awarenessday@aol.com. Provide a local contact number and the breed you would be willing to take. Understand that these dogs may very well be in poor health with no medical records. They understand if you don't feel that you have the money or manpower to take on a former mill dog.

For more info, please go to http://www.awarenessday.org/ and keep checking back as the site is updated almost daily!

Judy will probably bring back a mill dog if they get turned in as suggested by PMAD in their "No Kill Week" request. If anyone has the patience, time, and money, she will be glad to transport from there. Contact them at the awarenessday@aol.com with the info they request, and Judy will bring them home if anyone turns in a dog.

If you can help, or can go to the Dog Walk, please contact Judy at hawkshaven1@earthlink.net
