Winchester and Powhatan Meetings Canceled

The Winchester meeting, originally scheduled for 4/9/05, has been canceled.

The Powhatan meeting, originally scheduled for 4/17/05, has also been canceled.

The meeting schedule has been updated to reflect the changes.

VVAW Mission Statement Posted

We had two versions of a VVAW mission statement that was circulated, and we asked which of the two versions everyone preferred.

The winning mission statement has now been posted, and reads as follows:

"Virginia Voters for Animal Welfare (VVAW) is an animal welfare group.

VVAW’s approach to the pet overpopulation problem will be to advocate and work toward responsible government, responsible ownership, and responsible breeding.

VVAW’s mission is to bring humane education to the public and bring awareness of the pet overpopulation problem in Virginia, to reduce Virginia’s pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs, to have strong humane laws enacted and enforced in the Commonwealth of Virginia, to have the resources provided to enforce said laws, and to eliminate gas chambers."

"About Us" Page Updated

A revised "About Us" page has been posted which reflects much of the activity of the last twelve months or so.

VVAW Affiliates - Get your very own VVAW Email Address

As an added benefit of becoming a VVAW Affiliate, we are now offering FREE email addresses to any who have affiliated and would like one.

The email address can be just about whatever you like, as long as it is tasteful and appropriate to our mission/goals, and will look something like this:

yourname@virginiavotersforanimalwelfare.com

If you are interested:

1. Become an Affiliate (if you are not already)

2. Send an email to lsclancy@crosslink.net and provide us with:

  • your name
  • the email address you would like ("peggysue@virginiavotersforanimalwelfare.com")
  • your desired password

We will then set up your new email address and send you instructions on how to use it.

This is a great way to advertise VVAW!

Welcome Bridget Chisholm

Bridget Chisholm has joined VVAW part-time to assist us in pushing forward the many, many projects we are involved in, and to help coordinate upcoming meetings.

We are delighted to have her, and hopefully many of you will have the opportunity to speak with her or get correspondence from her regarding upcoming meetings.

Welcome aboard, Bridget!
