You are here: Home>>>Alerts>>>Katrina Update 9-12-05Katrina Update 9-12-051. Patti Stinson, Carmen Cline and the rest of the group have returned. Patti is writing her report, and they are planning on returning. Stay tuned. 2. Many have offered financial assistance. Please, instead of sending checks here, make them payable to AForeverHome, mark them “Katrina Fund” and mail to: PO Box 222801 You can also go to their site: www.AForeverHome.org When at the site, you can also donate using PayPal or JustGive. 3. Many of you have offered to foster Katrina’s victims. Patti is coordinating that and has several working with her to line up and check out foster homes, even if short-term. If you can help, regardless of where you live, rather than having us pass info on, please let Patti know directly. Reach Patti at: PattiStinson13@aol.com Please put in the subject line: I volunteer to foster 4. If you are able to go south, consider letting Patti know that as well. Again, reach Patti at PattiStinson13@aol.com This time, please put in the subject line: I volunteer to travel 5. In Louisiana, specifically at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, LA, there is a huge need for volunteers to help with the animals there – to feed them, clean them, walk them – help take care of them. If you are able to do this, click below for additional information. http://www.americanhumane.org/site/PageServer?pagename=pa_disaster_relief Should you go, come self-sufficient as you may need to sleep in your car, and you will need to have your own supplies both for yourself and for animals. 6. Jerry Finch with Habitat for Horses, Hitchcock, TX, has written movingly of what he saw. His is a very credible group and deserves the support of all. Click below to read his account. http://www.virginiavotersforanimalwelfare.com/Alerts/Finch-update.htm Thanks, Lillian Clancy |
