Pit Bull Whose Ears Were Cut Off with Box Cutters Needs Our Help!

PLEASE CROSS-POST

Usually, these “Alerts” come from Lillian and Don, but this one is from me, Debra Griggs.

Don and Lillian took in the young female pit bull from Danville whose “owner” had cut off her ears with box cutters; the same owner who only days later, many of you will recall, murdered his girlfriend.

This poor dog was surely shown every cruelty conceivable growing up in that violent environment.

Don and Lillian took her into their home, named her Princess, and have loved her dearly. Unfortunately, she is not fitting into their resident “pack” and they need to find a home for her with some urgency.

She is not universally a trouble maker and can live for months with her canine brethren without incident, but she has started a fight from time to time and needs to be in a household where she is an “only” dog or where the “owner” has the savvy and enough time to work with her and work out this occasional problematic behavior.

Given her horrible beginning and her precious personality, she is uniquely deserving of a home which will help her get over her barbaric beginnings.

Lillian and Don are committed to this little dog and are willing to be responsible for the costs of training and boarding until a foster or permanent home is found for “Prinnie”.

Don and Lillian have been tireless advocates for animals for years and, at least as far as I know, have never asked personally for help with one of their animals, but I am asking on their behalf now because, the way I see it - this dog who herself was a victim of a violent crime, and then suddenly an orphan, is the poster child for what each of us has dedicated our lives to - she is as much “ours” as she is theirs - they are just the keepers of her for now.

Can you help?  Do you know anyone who can?  Please, please, please, email Lillian at lsclancy@crosslink.net or call her at 540-253-5309 if you do, or email me at jasper550@cox.net.

Thank you.
