Alert 6/6/08 Reminder! Culpeper Area Meeting on Sunday!
Be Part of the Solution
The Virginia Federation of Humane Societies (VFHS) and Virginians for Animal Welfare (VAW) invite you to attend a legislative forum – a look back at 2008 and a look ahead to 2009.
Sunday, June 8, 2008 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Culpeper County Visitors Center
Historic Train Depot
113 S. Commerce Street
Culpeper, VA
Working together during the 2008 session of the General Assembly, animal advocates achieved better laws for Virginia’s animals.
Bills passed which:
increased penalties for animal fighting
increased regulation of puppymills
eliminated the use of gas chambers to kill excess dogs and cats
and more.
We can do even more in 2009.
Please join this movement and work with us to improve the outcome for Virginia’s animals.
We need you and, most of all, the animals need you!
All rescues, shelters, pounds, animal control officers, humane investigators, members of the General Assembly, elected officials and pro-animal citizens in the Culpeper area and beyond are invited to attend and be part of the solution.
After the main meeting, former or current Humane Investigators, or those wishing to become Humane Investigators, are asked to remain to discuss restoration and expansion of the Humane Investigator program.
If you plan to come and haven’t let us know, please do so.
See you on Sunday.
Thank you.
