Alert 2/5/08 Tethering and Coyotes
On Sunday night, two dogs, tethered outside at night, were killed by coyotes.
This happened on Old Waterloo Road in Warrenton, Fauquier County, Virginia.
The dogs were reported to be well-loved by their owners, but nevertheless were tethered outside at night.
What do you think legislators and other apologists who support tethering can possibly say to excuse this? Why must it always take a tragedy (Dorothy Sullivan, Michael Vick, defenseless dogs) to get the attention of people who otherwise oppose change?
If you agree that this could have been easily prevented and that tethering is wrong per se, then please contact your delegate and your senator and ask them why we haven’t done anything about this already, and what they are going to do before there is a next time.
Please contact your own local Board of Supervisors and ask them the same questions.
And tell all of them that you will be back in touch with them in 2 weeks to see the progress they are making. And then do just that. You can make this happen. You can make change.
