Alert 2/16/08    So Many Have Said Thank You

So many have said thank you.

Everyone is grateful that gas chambers are now outlawed in Virginia.

So many people worked together to make this change for Virginia's companion animals.

We could say it took too long to stop (it did), that many who could have stopped the use of the horrific gas chambers did not speak out (that's true), that people broke the law and used gas in illegal ways (they did), that at least one place in Virginia (Scott County) just recently stopped using gas despite the fact that the Chairman of the Scott County Board of Supervisors is a vet (that's right), and that for years thousands and thousands of dogs and cats suffered when using gas chambers was acceptable and legal.

Yes, we are thankful it is over.  But one word more:  we trust all of you in Virginia will be the eyes and ears of the tragic animals that died in gas chambers and report any - any - rumor that someone is cheating and breaking the law by using gas to kill dogs and cats anywhere in Virginia.

Vigilance is at least what is owed those who died so horribly.

Thank you to so many of you for helping make this change.  We can continue to work together to make more change.  Come with us.
