Alert   10/12/08   Coming to the Animal Fighting Seminar?

PLEASE CROSS-POST

Are you coming to the animal fighting seminar on Saturday, 11/1/08?

All are welcome!

The seminar starts at 11 am and will be held in our home in The Plains, Fauquier County.

Snacks and lunch will be included.

And if you are an animal control officer or humane investigator, you can receive 3 hours of continuing education credit by attending!

Please, we need your place to be reserved so let us know you are coming if you haven’t done so already.

After an introduction by Patti Stinson and Don Marro, the program follows:

Jim Knorr, Sr. Special Agent with the USDA, will be the lead speaker, and he will talk about his involvement with the Michael Vick/Bad Newz Kennel investigation and federal prosecution. He will provide background on how to work an animal fighting case.

Susan Bauer, an Assistant Federal Public Defender in Maryland, will address federal legislation against animal abuse, primarily dogfighting.

Tony Spencer, Commonwealth Attorney for Caroline County, will address the changes in Virginia law regarding animal fighting.

We want as many ACOs and humane investigators to come as possible, so we ask that you send this on to those you know. We do not have contact information for all in the state and so ask you to help spread the word.

Driving directions will be provided closer to the seminar date.

We look forward to seeing you!

Lillian Clancy and Don Marro
