Alert 1/11/08 Walking with Pat

For those of you who may not have met him yet, this is your chance to work with Pat Weakland. Pat is on the Board of VVAW and VAW and makes things happen.

Pat wants to take a walk – really two walks - and hopes you will join him.

As he did last year, Pat will be walking the halls of the General Assembly Building in Richmond next week, talking – lobbying - with legislators and their staff about the VVAW bills.

He wants company.

Can you come? one day? both days?

Dates: Tuesday, 1/15/08 and Thursday, 1/17/08

Schedule:
8:00 Pat will meet you in the lobby of the General Assembly Building left of security

NOTE: Pat will be wearing a yellow “Support Our Animals” badge on his suit

NOTE: Call if you are running late or can’t find Pat; his cell: 804-313-5214

8:15 walking starts

11:00 group lunch break in cafeteria in the building

12:30 meet the leadership

1:30 more walking

3:00 anticipated end

What do you need to do? Just show up, Pat says. It would help if you were a little familiar with a bill or two, particularly bills you especially want passed. And if you don’t already know them, learn the names of your state delegate and state senator. You will visit their office!

If you want more information, call or email Pat. He’d prefer a phone call (804-313-2220) and can also be reached also at NNAAT@aol.com

And please come dressed in good looking business attire. You have business to attend to – deadly serious business – so come looking as if you are to be listened to.

This is such a good thing to do, and you’ll enjoy it.
