VVAW - 2006 Legislative Push
We began our legislative push for the 2006 session of the General Assembly that convenes in January in Richmond, and had our introductory "kick-off" meeting in Richmond last week.
For those of you who commented on the proposed VVAW bills when they were sent out for comment, and for those who attended the Richmond meeting, thank you.
For those of you who didn’t come to the meeting or who didn’t comment on the VVAW 2006 package of bills, we would like to hear from you.

We are meeting with legislators now, and must accurately represent grassroots support to them. This is a serious effort that demands an unequivocal commitment from dependable people.
Organizations other than VVAW can advocate for eliminating overpopulation caused by irresponsible breeding and ownership and the resulting killing of the excess, but that will produce nothing quickly and perhaps will lead to nothing at all. Doing nothing preserves the obscene cost of animal welfare to taxpayers, the wholesale and unabated killing, and the inept state vet oversight.
Because we believe that dead and hopeless dogs and cats and other similarly disadvantaged companion animals speak to you, we ask this of you. We want to know where you stand so our credibility with legislators is solid.
